I've got this sick-ass case of "New Sketchbook Syndrome." You know, it's all brand spanking new and perfect and pristine and blank. I seriously don't even know where to begin with it, because I don't want to fuck it all up. So I don't do anything, and having it goes to waste.

It really is a gorgeous new book, though. It's the absolutely ideal size for me, too, and the pages are just the right weight - thinner and smoother than the usual ones I buy. This is my first "book" sketchbook, too ... I usually buy the spiral-bound ones, not the spine-bound ones. Always hardcover, though. That way you always have a hard flat surface to use.

Goddamn clean sketchbooks. I mean, I love it, but goddamnit, sometimes there's really nothing worse than a blank canvas.

Haha, are you coming back to 5631 this summer? I'm excited for it. I HATE my store here more than words can express. Ewww.

Yes, yes ... it's true ...
I don't know if you knew this one yet, but a lot of the reason why I haven't renewed my IAM account is because of all the shit that's going on that I really don't want to be a part of.
... yeah. Seriously.

...nonsense phrase! I have the same problem with blank sketchbooks, too. I got one of those gorgeous little moleskine notebooks lately to use for notetaking while I'm out and about and It was so beautifully made I didn't want to write in it so I just wrote a silly phrase ("vegemite sandwich") that popped in my head (I was listening to this song called Bug Powder Dust, remixed by Kruder Dorfmeister and it was part of the lyrics). Anyway, once I had defaced the pure emptiness of it, it was easy to starting making entries. Good luck with your mission to be the next David Carson! I'm not a live journal user, but stumbled here via Suicide Girls site.
